About Me

Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Carlye, I am a professional dancer, teacher and blogger in the Seattle area. I direct the Seattle Irish Dance Company, a professional performance company that seeks to bring Irish dance to new audiences and push the boundaries of it's artistry. I also teach, a lot. I teach people ages 2- adult, in Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz and, of course, Irish Dance.

I am currently working toward my TCRG, and do work closely with an established dance school. I work in private studios, community centers, teaching private lessons and with K-12 classrooms. I love bringing dance and movement to more people, whether it's helping teachers infuse their classrooms with more movement, or helping champions reach their goals.

To learn more about creative projects I'm involved in, check out the tab called "Seattle Irish Dance Company" at the top of the page. You can also find out about how to hire the Seattle Irish Dance Company for performance or residencies on that page.  For information about working with me as a dance teacher, please send me an email, or learn more about my past work on "Artist Residencies" page. If you are interested in learning more about my writing, or are interested in working on a project with me, check out my "writing portfolio."

I hope you find what you are looking for on this blog, I seek to help Irish Dancers, Irish Dance families and Irish Dance enthusiasts learn more about the art form, and navigate the sometimes confusing world of Irish dance. If you have a specific question, I'd love to hear it! I want to make this resource the best it can be, and your input is crucial to making that happen. Please don't hesitate to contact me, happy dancing!
